Important Notice Regarding Shoebox Orders 25/06/2026

With great regret, we have had to stop taking orders for shoeboxes with immediate effect.

Our Chairman, Nigel Danby, is due to undergo several hospital operations and has been advised that the effects of his treatment and recovery could affect him for up to 12 months, as a result, he is no longer able to be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the shoebox operation during this period.

In addition, Nigel’s wife, Gill Danby who serves as our Treasurer, and spends a considerable amount of time in the warehouse checking shoeboxes before dispatch, will also be significantly affected by these circumstances.

As a charity with a team of only four trustees, it is simply not possible for us to continue operating as normal while two of our key trustees are unavailable. We have therefore reluctantly taken the decision to suspend the acceptance of new shoebox orders.

However, we will continue to receive completed shoeboxes as normal, and these can still be returned to us in the usual way up to February 2027

We apologise that we have been unable to give advance notice of this decision. Unfortunately, Nigel was only informed of the need for these operations a few days ago, and we have had to act quickly in response to this unexpected situation.

At present, we anticipate that the suspension of new shoebox orders may remain in place for approximately 12 months, although this will be kept under review.

We apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding, support, and prayers for Nigel’s successful treatment and recovery.
